President Kovind turns emotional visiting his village

President Ram Nath Kovind turned emotional during his first visit to native village Paraunkh in Kanpur Dehat as President, saying it was due to the democratic system of the country that an "ordinary boy" like him emerged from a village and was occupied the highest constitutional post in the country.

He also enthused the people of the village saying though he was the first president from Uttar Pradesh that has given nine prime ministers to the country, his appointment has now opened up a path for many others in the state who can now use their "creativity and conduct" to occupy the prestigious post.
