PATNA: In a major success, the National Investigation Agency arrested Haji Salim, an alleged one of the recruiters of Pakistani terror organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba in India from Kairana in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh on Friday in the Darbhanga parcel blast case.
Sources said Salim’s son Kafil has also been arrested and both are being brought to Patna via roadway by the premier agency for production before its special court here on Saturday.

“Yes, the duo is scheduled to be produced before the NIA court in Patna,” an agency source said.
Both were arrested by another team of NIA soon after its one team successfully produced Mohammad Nasir Khan and his brother Imran Khan before the special court in Patna on Friday after arresting them from Hyderabad in connection with parcel blast which took place at platform number one of Darbhanga railway station on June 17.
Sources said that till now investigation has cleared that it was Salim who had recruited Nasir in the terror network and had facilitated his visit to Pakistan for getting trained in IED manufacturing by LeT.
“It has also come to light that Salim himself had visited Pakistan 12 times and was involved in recruiting lads for the terror organisation in India. He had also financed more than Rs 1.5 lakh to Nasir and Imran for manufacturing the explosive and sending it inside parcel to Darbhanga from Secunderabad,” a source said.
Sources said it was Salim and Kafil whom NIA first made to cough up the names of those behind parcel blast.
“Salim told NIA about Nasir and Imran. Both got arrested after which NIA pounded on father-son again,” a state police source said.
