Only 1 death for 2nd day in region, no cases in Bhandara

NAGPUR: For the second consecutive day, Vidarbha reported just one death due to Covid-19 on Saturday. Barring Buldhana, all other 10 districts reported zero deaths. Total number of new cases was 129 while 161 patients recovered in a day.
Now, out of 10,97,844 patients reported in Vidarbha so far, 10,76,515 have recovered, taking the recovery rate to 98% which is better than state and national average.
Bhandara district reported zero new cases despite conducting 880 tests. This has happened for the second time in last seven days in the district. Now, the district has nine patients under treatment and none of them is hospitalized.
Overall, 20,956 tests were conducted in the region in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is under 1% in entire region. This shows the daily caseload has gone down significantly in all districts. Seven districts reported single digit new cases. Amravati reported highest cases on Saturday at 33.
Now, Vidarbha has only 1,109 patients under treatment. Six districts have less than 100 under-treatment patients, with five of them having less than 50 patients. Majority of under-treatment patients are in home isolation.
Akola: The district reported nine new cases out of 1,452 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The caseload has reached 57,681. Recoveries touched 56,507, including eight on Saturday. Now, 44 patients are under treatment.
Buldhana: There were 22 new cases from 2,537 tests reports received in last 24 hours. The day saw 20 recoveries while one patient died during treatment. The district has reported 87,081 cases so far, including 86,339 recoveries and 665 deaths. There are 77 patients under treatment.
Washim: The district reported 10 new cases while 13 patients recovered. Out of the 41,556 patients so far, 40,807 have recovered while the disease has claimed 622 lives, leaving 126 patients under treatment.
Gadchiroli: Out of more than 700 tests conducted in last 24 hours, 20 came positive. There were 11 recoveries. Now, the caseload is 30,415, including 29,523 recoveries and 741 deaths. Now, 151 patients are under treatment.
Gondia: One out of 1,555 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, only one came positive in Gondia. Six patients recovered and no death was reported. Now, the district has 28 patients under treatment with 20 of them in home isolation.
Bhandara: The district has nine patients under-treatment, which is the lowest in Vidarbha. All are in home isolation. On Saturday, zero tested positive in Bhandara out of 880 tests. Six patients recovered. No death was reported.
Amravati: Even as the number of new cases increased marginally on Saturday, the district posted no Covid death for the third consecutive day. Addition of 33 cases took the caseload to 96,286 and deaths remained constant at 1,557. Thirty-five recoveries of the day took the total to 94,427 for a rate of 98.1%. This left 302 active cases.
Wardha: One person from Karanja tested positive out of 668 test reports on Saturday. The caseload of district is now 49,283 and after 6 discharges, the total recoveries are 47,923, leaving 38 active cases. There was no death due to coronavirus on Saturday while toll of the district is 1,322.
Yavatmal: The district had no death for the 22nd consecutive day, keeping the toll unchanged at 1,789. There were 3 new cases and 4 recoveries. The administration received 603 test reports. Currently there are 19 patients undergoing treatment. Of the 72,758 cases so far, 70,953 have recovered. The test positivity rate is 10.61% and death rate is 2.45%. The daily positivity rate is 0.50%.
Chandrapur: Saturday was once again a day with no casualty and death toll remained static at 1,533. There were 20 new detections and 22 recoveries during the day, leaving 161 patients under treatment. The Covid caseload is now up at 84,812, while recoveries amount to 83,118.
