KANPUR: A case has been booked against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vimal Bhadauria, who along with his aides had allegedly attacked Prashant Kumar Prasad, Etawah additional superintendent of police, during the voting for the post of the block panchayat chief on Saturday afternoon.
The police have also booked 100-125 others for indulging in violence during the voting.
SSP Etawah Brajesh Kumar Singh told reporters that the Badhpura police station in-charge Jitendra Kumar Sharma has filed a case in this regard.

"A case has been registered against 100-125 people, including BJP leader Vimal Bhadauria, under sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 353, 307, 269, 270, 188, 51, 57, 3 and CCLA Act," said Singh.
Singh said that video footages have been collected as evidence against the accused.
He said that during the election, around 100 to 125 people led by BJP leader Vimal Bhadauria arrived near the barrier at Udi intersection at around 1pm and forcibly tried to remove the barricading in a bid to reach the block premises.
"On being stopped by the police, the angry crowd started pelting bricks and stones on policemen. Not only this, they were carrying 'lathis' and sticks with them and also resorted to firing. When the ASP tried to stop them, he was pushed back and abused by trouble-makers. When senior sub-inspector Rajesh Kumar Singh accompanying the ASP tried to save him, these people also misbehaved with him and attacked him with sticks," added Singh.
The SSP also said that seven empty cartridges, besides bricks, stones, shoes, slippers and sticks have also been recovered from the site.
