A tusker created panic among the city residents after it was found roaming in the main roads of the city. Now the tusker has been chased away near the Mattavara forest in the city outskirts.

CHIKKAMAGALURU: A tusker created panic among the city residents after it was found roaming in the main roads of the city. Now the tusker has been chased away near the Mattavara forest in the city outskirts.
According to Chikkamagaluru city assistant conservator of forest Muddanna, the forest department received information about the tusker around 5.30 am. "Immediately we swung into action.
Residents informed us that it was roaming on the main roads of the city. We found it near the ABC office on KM Road. Later it moved near the Mattavara forest. Now it is inside the local forest," he said.

According to the residents this tusker was roaming in the villages of the city outskirts for the last couple of days. On Monday morning it roamed in the roads of Vastare, Mugthihalli, Undedasarahalli, Uppalli, Indavara, Adarshanagar and Nallur gate areas
According to forest department authorities, the tusker would have come from the Belur side. "We will chase it again towards the Belur side forest," explained officials.
