Only 7 patients under treatment, Maharashtra's Bhandara on path to be Covid-free

Bhandara, the district that reported about 60% test positivity rate during the second wave of the Covid-19 in April-May, is on the way to become technically Covid-free. Monday was the third consecutive day for Bhandara to report zero new case of Covid-19.

NAGPUR: Bhandara, the district that reported about 60% test positivity rate during the second wave of the Covid-19 in April-May, is on the way to become technically Covid-free. Monday was the third consecutive day for Bhandara to report zero new case of Covid-19.
Now, only seven patients are under-treatment in Bhandara district, which is lowest not only in Vidarbha but also in entire Maharashtra.
Of the seven patients, none requires oxygen supply.
Being Sunday on July 11, the random tests, mobile van tests etc were not conducted in the region, reducing the daily count to 9,941, lowest since second wave peak. As a result, the number of new cases reduced to 86, lowest since June last year.
On the other hand, 156 patients recovered. Vidarbha’s recovery rate is still more than 98% which is better than state and national average.
The daily toll has gone down significantly in July. Only one death was reported on Monday in Amravati. All other districts, including Nagpur, reported zero Covid-19 death. This was 5th time since July 5 when the region reported only one death in 24 hours.
With more recoveries and fewer cases, the number of under-treatment patients has gone down significantly. On Monday, 1,009 patients were under treatment in Vidarbha. Majority of them are in home isolation. Secondly, despite low testing in last 24 hours, the test positivity rate remained under 1%, which is a strong indicator that Covid-19 is well under control.

Bhandara: The number of tests reduced to 117. One patient recovered and no death was reported.
Gondia: As against one new patient, there were two recoveries on Monday. The district has registered 41,167 patiets so far, including 40,446 recoveries, 700 deaths. Of the 20 patients under treatment, 12 are in home isolation. None of the patients admitted to Covid hospitals is on oxygen supply.
Gadchiroli: There were three new cases, 10 recoveries and no death. Now, the caseload is 30,439, including 29,547 recoveries and 151 patients under treatment.
Akola: Of 449 tests conducted in last 24 hours, only one came positive. Two patients recovered while no death was reported for the second day in row. The district now has 57,689 cases, 56,516 recoveries and 1,130 deaths reported till date. Only 43 patients are under treatment.
Buldhana: Only 775 tests were conducted in last 24 hours and 18 of them tested positive to take caseload to 87,134. On the other hand, 27 patients recovered which took total recovery count to 86,386. Now, 83 patients are under treatment.
Washim: Six new cases, 11 recoveries and no death was reported on Monday. This took caseload to 41,575 and recoveries to 40,840. Washim’s death toll is 622. Now, 113 patients are under treatment.
Amravati: One death after four days and a spike of 16 cases took the district’s toll to 1,558 and caseload to 96,323 on Monday. The 40 recoveries of the day boosted the total to 94,464 (98.11%). This left 261 active cases under treatment.
Wardha: In all, 283 test reports were received in the last 24 hours. Five of them tested positive which took the caseload to 49,299 while recoveries touched 47,932 after discharged of 4 patients. Nearly 45 active positive are under treatment. The district reported no deaths with the toll remaining unchanged at 1,322. New cases reported were from Arvi (3) and Hinganghat (2).
Yavatmal: Though the district reported no deaths for the 24th consecutive day, the number of new positive patients rose to 5 from zero recorded on Friday. The toll remained unchanged at 1,789. The administration received 221 reports of which 5 were found positive. Currently, there are 22 active positive patients undergoing treatment. Of the 72,767 positive patients, 70,959, including 2 on Monday, have recovered. The test positivity rate is 10.60 % while death rate is 2.45 %. The daily positivity rate has gone up to 2.71 % from the 0.79 % on Sunday.
Chandrapur: The district remained fatality free for the third consicative day on Monday. The toll remained stable at 1,533. There were just 9 detection and 15 recoveries during the day leaving 145 active patients under treatment. The caseload has risen to 84,836, while total recoveries amount to 83,158.
