Shivpal Singh is a resident of Hingutargarh village under Dhanapur block of Chandauli district in Uttar Pradesh. His father Ramashray Singh is working in PAC. Shivpal has inherited the sport of javelin throw. His father Ramashray Singh, uncle Shivpujan Singh and Jagmohan Singh himself are also javelin throwers.

Shivpal Singh's uncle Jagmohan Singh is employed in the Navy and has also been a coach of javelin throw. Jagmohan Singh used to come home whenever on leave so Shivpal Singh used to get javelin throwing practice. Shivpal Singh's education till intermediate was done in the village itself.

After that he went out with his uncle. After this, at the age of 18, Shivpal's job was taken from the sports quota in the Air Force. At present, Shivpal's posting is in Hindon Airbase. But he is currently living in the Indian Camp in Patiala for his javelin throwing preparations. Shivpal's younger brother Nand Kishore Singh is also a javelin thrower and is currently serving in the Navy from sports quota.

Shivpal Singh, a resident of Chandauli in eastern Uttar Pradesh, threw 86.50 meters in the Asian Games held in Doha in 2019 and won gold. After this, Shivpal also brought laurels to the country in the World Military Games held in Wuhan, China in 2020. He won the gold medal by throwing the javelin 85.47 meters. Shivpal Singh also won a silver medal in the competition held in Nepal. In view of the talent of Shivpal Singh, he was honored with Laxman Award by the Government of UP in January 2021.

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised Shivpal Singh during Mann Ki Baat. Now that Shivpal Singh is going to the Tokyo Olympics, his father and family are very proud. Shivpal's father Ramashray Singh told that since childhood, Shivpal had a passion for this game. From the age of eight, Shivpal started practicing javelin throwing and seeing his talent, his uncle Jagmohan Singh, a Navy employee, took him with him after intermediate studies. There he got a job in the Air Force. Shivpal's father Ramashray Singh says that when it came to getting a job from the sports quota, the standard for throwing javelin was 68 meters. But Shivpal threw 74 meters.

Since Shivpal's selection for the Tokyo Olympics, his father and family are very happy. Along with this, the people of the village are also very happy and excited. Shivpal Singh's cousin Vivek Singh says that in Mann Ki Baat, Shivpal ji was appreciated by the Prime Minister and now when Shivpal is going to Tokyo. So we are very happy and his elder brother will also do well in Tokyo Olympics and bring glory to the country.

Deepak Singh, a resident of the village, says that Shivpal was very talented since childhood and his passion for javelin throw was formed on seeing Deepak Singh, remembering that period, saying that whenever he got a chance after school, Shivpal He used to practice javelin throwing. Deepak Singh told that the whole village is happy about Shivpal going to Tokyo Olympics and it is sure that Shivpal Singh will make his country proud in Tokyo Olympics like other competitions.
