Day 2 of the Tokyo Olympics was all about Tatjana Schoenmaker from a Team South Africa perspective.
The 24-year-old set a new Olympic record in her 100m breaststroke heat, finally giving South Africa something to celebrate after what has been a difficult start to the Games.

ROWING
South African rowing pair Jake Green and Luc Daffarn were devastated after finishing last in the men's pairs repechage once again at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday. - REPORT

It was a tough outing for the men's waterpolo side as they lost 21-2 to Italy.
SKATEBOARDING
Brandon Valjalo entered the event with a broken wrist but gave a decent account of himself as he finished 18th, failing to qualify for the final. - REPORT

Jordy Smith may be out injured, but South Africa has another hopeful in the form of Bianca Buitendag, who has progressed to the last 16 in the event. She now faces Australia's Stephanie Gilmore in the knockouts and that contest will take place at 00:00 on Monday (SA time). - REPORT
GYMNASTICS
Naveen Daries and Cailtin Rooskrantz finished 3rd and 4th, respectively, in their uneven bars sub-division.
