BirminghamLive takes a look at the latest names to be linked with transfers to Birmingham City.

Wolves goalkeeper nears loan move

Birmingham City manager Lee Bowyer has revealed he expects Wolves goalkeeper Matija Sarkic to join on loan ‘soon’.

Wolves are willing to let the 24-year-old head out on loan again this season and he’s been training with the Blues this month.

The shot-stopper spent the previous campaign on loan at League One’s Shrewsbury Town where he made 29 appearances.

"I think that deal will get done, he has done really well since he has been with us, so I think that will happen,” Bowyer said.

Sarkic will be the second Wolves player to join the Blues this summer after Dion Sanderson made a loan switch last week.

Blues set to lose out on Kinnear

Birmingham City have been linked with a move for free agent Brian Kinnear this transfer window.

Kinnear, 20, was released by Rangers earlier this month and the Blues had reportedly agreed a deal after the Scotland international impressed on trial.

However, according to the Daily Record, the shot-stopper has agreed a deal to move to Premier League side West Ham.

Released Birmingham City player hopeful of opportunity

Left-back Lucas Powell was released by Birmingham City last summer and is yet to join a new club.

Powell, 19, was a product of the Blues’ academy but he made just four appearances for the Under 18s.

According to Shropshire Star reporter Lewis Cox, Telford have been looking at the youngster who is on trial with the club.

He featured in their friendly against Notts County on Saturday and will be eager to earn himself a contract ahead of the new season.
