Collin Morikawa joined elite company with his Open Championship victory at Royal St. George's earlier this month. The 24-year-old American became just the second player in men's golf history to win the Open Championship and PGA Championship before turning 25. The other men's golfer to accomplish that feat is Tiger Woods, who's tied with Sam Snead for the most wins (82) in PGA Tour history. Morikawa can add to his impressive resume this week at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Morikawa's odds improved after Spain's Jon Rahm and USA's Bryson DeChambeau, both among the pre-tournament favorites, dropped out due to a positive COVID-19 test. William Hill Sportsbook lists Morikawa at 7-1 in the 2020 Olympic men's golf odds, followed closely by fellow Americans Xander Schauffele (9-1) and Justin Thomas (9-1). Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy is one of the other top Olympic golf contenders at 11-1. Before making any 2020 Tokyo Olympics men's golf picks, be sure to see the Tokyo 2020 golf futures bets and golf predictions from Mike McClure's proven golf model at SportsLine

McClure is a DFS pro who has won almost $2 million, and his golf projection model, which simulates each event 10,000 times, has been red-hot with his picks since the PGA Tour resumed last summer. In fact, his best bets based on the model have brought in more than $10,500 since the June restart, bringing in profits at tournament after tournament.

At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure's best bets included Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. He was also all over Daniel Berger (+220) and Emiliano Grillo (+700) finishing inside the top 20. McClure's best bets netted over $2,200 at the Open Championship.

In addition, McClure's model was all over Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner. And at the 2021 Masters, McClure nailed Rahm's (+250) top-five finish in his best bets, as well as Corey Conners' (+550) top-10 showing.

McClure's model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure is offering his top 2020 Tokyo Olympics golf predictions so you can cash in huge on sleeper and value picks. He's sharing his Olympic golf picks only at SportsLine.

2020 Tokyo Olympics golf picks

One of the 2020 Olympics golf picks the model is high on: USA's Patrick Reed at 18-1. Reed joined the 2020 Tokyo Olympics field after DeChambeau tested positive for COVID-19. Reed played last week at the 3M Open, finishing T-34 at TPC Twin Cities.

Reed doesn't explode off the tee quite as much as some of the other top contenders, but he enters the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as one of the best putters on the PGA Tour. In fact, Reed ranks first in overall putting average (1.553), second in one-putt percentage (44.21) and fourth in total putting (74.7). Reed also ranks 10th in strokes gained: around-the-green (.402) and 18th in scoring average (70.007). The former Masters champion has secured six top-10 finishes this season, which includes his ninth career PGA Tour victory at the Farmers Insurance Open in January, making Reed a great choice for 2020 Olympic men's golf bets.

On the other hand, McClure is fading Thomas at 9-1. He doesn't even make it into the top five in McClure's picks after a run that has seen him fail to secure a top 10 finish since March.Thomas recorded his 14th career PGA Tour victory earlier this season at the Players Championship, joining Tiger Woods as the only players to win a major championship, the Players Championship and have 10+ PGA Tour victories before the age of 28. However, he's struggled mightily since his victory at TPC Sawgrass, finishing T40 or worse in four of his last five PGA Tour starts.

Thomas' recent struggles can be directly attributed to his inability to find the fairway off the tee. The 14-time PGA Tour champion enters the 2020 Tokyo Olympics ranked 174th in driving accuracy percentage (55.80), which doesn't bode well for his chances to win a medal. Kasumigaseki's East course has trees everywhere and some large, deep bunkers, so his lack of accuracy could get him into a lot of trouble. The 28-year-old American is simply trending in the wrong direction.
