AYUSHMANN, JACKIE, SONU OFFERS HELP TO SAVITA BAJAJ

Nupur Alankar, a care committee member of CINTAA (Cine and TV Artists Association), who has been looking after Savita Baja, told ETimes TV that Ayushmann Khurrana, on reading about Savita Bajaj on Rajeshwari Sachdeva's Instagram post, reached out to them and transferred a substantial chunk of money to them. This helped them discharge her from the hospital.

"Ayushmaan called her and transferred the money which was a huge relief for us, as we were able to discharge her from the hospital," Nupur said. The same report also revealed that Jackie Shroff too helped Savita Bajaj out by transferring money into her account.

In April, Savita Bajaj had been tested positive for the novel coronavirus and had to be in the hospital for 22 days. Now, she has been diagnosed with emphysema, a condition that involves damage to the walls of the air sacs, which means she will need oxygen support for regular breathing. Sonu Sood has helped Savita Bajaj out on this front. Nupur added in the interview, "Sonu Sood has donated an oxygen concentrator which will also be of use to her.''

SAVITA BAJAJ SEEKS FINANCIAL HELP

Veteran actress Savita Bajaj had earlier, in an interview with The Times of India, revealed that she needs financial aid to sustain herself in the city as she has no means of income and her family has refused to help her. “My savings have dried up. I have spent all the money on my failing health. I have developed serious breathing issues and don’t know how I will manage now. The writers’ association had helped me with Rs 1 lakh in 2016 after I was hospitalised following an accident. CINTAA, too, had helped me with Rs 50,000. But today, I am not in a condition to work owing to my poor health. I have every intention to pay back money once I resume work, but right now, I’m not in a condition to work due to my poor health,” Savita Bajaj had said.

“Sadly, I have nobody who can take care of me today. Around 25 years ago, I had decided to move back to my hometown, Delhi, but no one in my family wanted to keep me. I have earned a lot, helped those in need, but today I need help,” she further added.
