UPDATE 9:35 p.m.: Parts of Pulaski County are still without power due to Monday’s storms.
Unfortunately for those customers still in the dark, Appalachian Power has revised the restoration time for around 1,000 customers who are still out between Hiwassee and Snowville, near Claytor Lake, power restoration is expected around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28.
Elsewhere, only minor outages remain.
UPDATE 8:45 p.m.: Power is still out in some areas due to Monday’s storms.
According to Appalachian Power, over 1,000 customers are still in the dark in Pulaski County — the largest cluster of outages by-far in the region.
The following areas are showing minor outages:
- Bedford County
- Campbell County
- Carroll County
- Franklin County
- Grayson County
- Henry County
- Roanoke City
- Roanoke County
Each of these localities are reporting just a few customers without power; however, in Henry County, just under 100 customers remain in the dark.
Customers who are still without power can expect to have power restored Tuesday night.
UPDATE 3:20 p.m.: Power crews continue efforts to restore power to customers who were knocked out during Monday’s storms.
According to Appalachian Power’s website, the largest outages remain in Pulaski County, where over 1,400 customers are still in the dark. The bulk of those customers are expected to have power restored by 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, smaller outages remain Henry County is reporting nearly 100 customers are without power. Even fewer customers are in the dark in the counties of Nelson, Amherst, Campbell, Bedford, Franklin, Montgomery, Patrick, Carroll, Wythe, Bland, and Giles, as well as Lynchburg and Roanoke City.
PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — More than 2,000 Appalachian Power customers in Pulaski County — as well as about 300 customers in other parts of southwest and central Virginia — are still without power Tuesday morning after storms rolled through the region on Monday.
As of 6:28 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, Appalachian Power says 2,020 customers in Pulaski County are without power due to 18 outage cases.
The estimated restoration time for almost every outage in Pulaski County is currently listed as 9 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Appalachian Power’s online outage map.
Meanwhile, 141 customers in Botetourt County; 67 customers in Roanoke County; 29 customers in Amherst County; 19 customers in Roanoke City; 14 customers in Henry County; 14 customers in Montgomery County; 11 customers in Franklin County; and a handful of customers in Bedford, Carroll, Grayson, Nelson, and Wythe counties are also dealing with outages Tuesday morning.
