United are reportedly considering whether to let Jones, whose contract expires in 2023, leave on a free transfer this summer to open up space within their squad and trim the wage bill in their bid to build upon the arrivals of Jadon Sancho and the imminent signing of Raphael Varane.

The Hammers are waiting to discover whether Jones would be up for the challenge, and are considering offering him a highly-incentivised contract to join the club.

It has been reported that West Ham would offer Jones a low base salary but with tempting add-ons based on appearances.

Jones' injury record serves as a concern for the Hammers, with the 29-year-old having not featured for United's first team for 18 months now due to a long-standing knee problem.

Jones also has interest from Newcastle, and is desperate to enjoy regular action again in the Premier League.

Jones has played 224 times for United since joining from Blackburn in 2011, winning one Premier League title under legendary manager Ferguson, one FA Cup and the Europa League.

While Moyes wants to bring in a central defender, he is also looking to sign a midfielder and striker this summer.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has reportedly attracted interest from the Hammers, while they are also keen on West Brom's exciting playmaker Matheus Pereira.
