A new adult animated series based on the Chicago Party Aunt Twitter character will premiere on Netflix in September.

The account’s boozy, bawdy namesake is the fictional creation of Chicago sketch and improv veteran Chris Witaske, who has long remained anonymous until now. His co-creators on the show are Jon Barinholtz (“Superstore”) and Katie Rich (“Saturday Night Live”), both of whom are also alumni of the city’s comedy scene.

For “Chicago Party Aunt” the series — which premieres Sept. 17 with animation from Titmouse, the same studio behind Netflix’s “Big Mouth” — the trash-talking woman of the hour now has a name: Diane Dunbrowski, whose mantra is (per the Netflix press release): “If life gives you lemons, turn that (stuff) into Mike’s Hard Lemonade.” She’ll be voiced by “Superstore’s” Lauren Ash, who, like her collaborators, is a Second City veteran.

“Chicago Party Aunt,” the new adult animated comedy from Netflix, is based on the parody Twitter account of the same name.

For those who have followed the Twitter account over the years — a loving riff on a certain type of bluntly old school Chicago personality — her white lady exploits are legendary (in her own head). She’s never turned down anything resembling a good time; she’s full of piss and vinegar and a whole lotta Old Style.

So yes, she likes to go out and tie one on.

Or as her pinned Tweet pleads: “Will ya get (bleeping) vaccinated so we can party again please?!”
