Cowgirl Tennis Adds Four For 2021-22 Season

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team has added four players for the 2021-22 season with the signing of Sofia Rojas, Oona Orpana and Mhai Mananchaya and transfer Martina Zerulo it was announced today by head coach Chris Young.

"I am so excited to add these three girls to our roster while also being able to see Martina compete this year," Young said. "All four of these girls are great competitors."

Finland native Orpana will also make her way to Stillwater for the upcoming season. Orpana has an International Tennis Federation juniors career-high ranking of No. 41, and Women's Tennis Association ranking of No. 542 in singles & No. 596 in doubles with a 10.71 Universal Tennis Rating. She has won four 15K titles with one coming in singles action and three in doubles competition.

Rojas, a Sarasota, Florida native, holds a UTR of 10.23 and is ranked No. 21 in the class of 2021. Rojas will join the Cowgirls as the fifth-ranked recruit in Florida. Rojas has an ITR junior career-high ranking of No. 97, winning two singles and three doubles titles.

Thailand native Mananchaya makes her way to Stillwater with a WTA ranking of No. 567 in singles and No. 665 in doubles. The future Cowgirl boasts an ITF junior career-high ranking of 14 and has won a 15K pro title in both singles and doubles. 

Zerulo originally from Italy, competed for three seasons at Arkansas at the No. 1 and 2 singles positions for the Razorbacks. The last time Zerulo competed was in the 2019-20 season when she reached a singles ranking of No. 112 in the nation. Martina played exclusively at the No. 2 doubles spot compiling a doubles record of 4-3 for the spring. She received All-SEC second-team honors and was awarded the 2020 University of Arkansas service-over-self honor for her contribution to community service throughout the year. Zerulo also excelled in the classroom and made both the AD's list and SEC Academic honor roll in the spring of 2020.
