Movies in the Park return to Federal Way

The next free movie feature is Saturday, Aug. 14 at Town Square Park.

About 300 community members gathered for the return of Federal Way’s Movies in the Park on July 24.

The free event included music, a prize wheel by Federal Way’s Surface Water Management team, a craft booth by Red Canoe, We Love Our City had Aladdin character photo booth, games, and popcorn.

“We wanted to bring back some type of community events that were outdoors, that people could distance, and still enjoy a great time in our community,” said Cody Geddes, City of Federal Way recreation manager. “People are anxious to return to normal, and the movies and the summer concerts on Wednesday’s at Steel Lake are perfect opportunities for this.”

The next Movies in the Park feature is “Onward” from 8:45-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 at Town Square Park. Free summer concerts are from 6:30-8 p.m. every Wednesday through Aug. 11 at Steel Lake Park in Federal Way.
