Railways to run weekly superfast special trains between Rameswaram and Faizabad
MADURAI: Railways will run weekly superfast special trains between Rameswaram and Faizabad starting September.
According to a statement from the Madurai Railway Division, Train No 06793 Rameswaram – Faizabad special will run from September 19 and Train No 06794 Faizabad – Rameswaram special will run from September 22. The trains will have 18 coaches.
Train No 06793 will depart from Rameswaram at 11.55 pm on Sunday and reach Faizabad at 5.05 am on Wednesday.
Train No 06794 will leave Faizabad at 10.45pm on Wednesday and reach Rameswaram at 3.45am on Saturday.
In Tamil Nadu, the trains will have stoppages at Manamadurai, Trichy, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruppadirippuliyur, Villupuram and Chennai Egmore.
The railways have also announced changes in the pattern of tri-weekly train service (Silambu Express Special) operated between Sengottai and Chennai Egmore. No 06182 Sengottai – Chennai Egmore will be operated on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from September 23. No 06181 Chennai Egmore – Sengottai will be operated on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from September 22.
