LUCKNOW: Six days after the decapitated bodies of a couple, Manju and Satish, were recovered in Talgaon police station area of Sitapur, police on Saturday claimed to have solved the case with the arrest of five persons.
The accused were identified as Shakeel Ahmad, Aquil Ahmad, Israel, Ramzan and Rukhsar. Inspector general, Lucknow, Laxmi Singh, who supervised the case, said the victims as well as the accused were labourers and acquainted with each other.

“The mastermind of the murder and loot, Shakeel, got acquainted with Manju while working with her at a construction site in Chinhat, Lucknow. She shared with Shakeel her plan to buy a plot with the money she and her husband had been collecting for the last 17 years,” said SP, Sitapur, RP Singh.
“Shakeel decided to murder the couple and take away their money. Shakeel, his father, brothers and aides plotted to kill them,” the SP said. Last week, he lured Manju and Satish to work at a tile shop promising Rs 2,500 each. However, he and his aides killed the couple and dumped their bodies in Talgaon.
