Flood water in Subarnarekha inundated agricultural fields, roads and villages in Odisha's Balasore district. The flood victims have taken shelter on the high lands around. Not only the river side villages, but thousands of acres of paddy fields and vegetable farm lands around have been inundated. Water levels in river Subarnarekha is flowing touching danger levels 10.36 in Balasore district following heavy rains in upper catchment of the river in Jharkhand during the last several hours. Several villages in Bhograi and Baliapal block are inundated as floodwaters entered into farmland and roads. Due to the flash flood road communications got disrupted at several places forcing people to use country boats for commuting.
