Multiple areas to be affected by six-hour power interruption
The interruption is due to maintenance work to be conducted on the system.
POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality have announced a planned power interruption on August 10.
In a statement, municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selala said the power interruption, announced by Eskom, will affect Polokwane substations Sigma, Hospital
and Zone 8 from 08:00-16:00.
“The interruption is due to
maintenance work to be conducted on the system,” he explained.
Selala said power supply will be affected in the following areas:
- Biko Park
- Hospital View
- Luthuli Park
- Madiba Park
- Zone 1
- Zone 1 Extension
- Zone 2
- Zone 3
- Zone 4
- Zone 5
- Zone 6
- Zone 7
- Zone 8
“Power supply will be restored once Eskom’s team has completed the maintenance work at 16:00. The Polokwane Municipality will provide regular updates in terms of maintenance work,” he added.
Selala urged affected users to treat all electrical wiring as live and to switch off all appliances during the outage to avoid injury and damage once power supply is restored.
