KALABURAGI: A 38-year-old woman had a narrow escape after a bullet grazed her shoulder at Kadaganchi village in Aland taluk in Kalaburagi district on Tuesday. Nirmala Satalingappa was shot by Nagaraj Ramachandrappa Vaani. Their two families are locked in a bitter battle over a path that is between their agriculture land. Nagaraja had the path to his land, running through the land allotted to Nirmala’s husband under SC quota.
After allotting the land to Satalingappa, Nagaraj was not allowed to go to his farmland, as he had to cross Satalingappa’s land to get there.
On Tuesday, while Nagaraja and his brothers, were using the path, Nirmala objected to it. The accused shot in the air at first, and later fired near her, which caused the bullet to graze her shoulder.
Nirmala fainted and was shifted to a hospital. Satalingappa filed a complaint against Nagaraja and his brothers, Shrishail Ramachandrappa Vaani, Ramachandrappa Vaani and Ashok Laxman Bagashetty under the SC & ST(Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
