Flood-hit Sheopur: Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar faces angry mob

Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar was forced to make a hasty retreat after facing an angry mob in Madhya Pradesh’s flood-hit Sheopur. The minister came across angry residents shouting slogans and hurling filth and brooms at his caravan. Tomar wasn’t the first to face the angry mob’s wrath. Earlier, minister in charge, Bharat Singh Khushwah, faced a similar reaction upon visiting the flood-hit district. Almost 50 per cent of residential areas in the district were underwater by August 3 at midnight. The floodwater from the river Seep has wreaked havoc upon Sheopur. 'When we faced the flood fury, there was no government or administration for help. We were left to struggle alone', said a disgruntled resident.
