As many as 53,481 people living in 52 villages and four nagar palika wards of Mauranipur Tehsil received their first dose of Covid vaccines in Jhansi district till Sunday. They include 28,905 males and 24,576 females above the age of eighteen years.

JHANSI: As many as 53,481 people living in 52 villages and four nagar palika wards of Mauranipur Tehsil received their first dose of Covid vaccines in Jhansi district till Sunday. They include 28,905 males and 24,576 females above the age of eighteen years.
Giving details to TOI, district magistrate Jhansi Andra Vamsi said a total of 6.23 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in the district so far.
Of which 5.23 lakh are of the first dose and one lakh of the second dose.
The people, who are out of the village for work, have also been taken into account and would be vaccinated once when they returned, he said. A total of eight villages have been identified that have more than 10% eighteen plus population who are out of the village and are on the watch list, he added. “I would like to thank all the FPOs, self-help groups, surveillance committees, ASHA, ANM, respective village heads, FPS owners, SDMs of Mauranipur, Garotha, Moth, Sadar and Tehrauli and also the voluntary organizations for making their best efforts in achieving the feat”, the DM said. Meanwhile, the situation of the corona positive patients in the district is in control with only seven active positive cases reported in the district of which one patient is found to have mild symptoms.
The only major concern is that most of the people have stopped following Covid safety protocol despite regular appeals made by the district administration officials.
