Uttar Pradesh: Two youths found murdered in Pratapgarh
PRAYAGRAJ: Two youths, identified as Shivbhole (25) and Rajendra alias Raviendra (23), residents of Sapha Chat village, were found murdered in a rice field around 11am near the village. As the news spread, tension prevailed in the village and adjoining areas under the Patti Kotwali police station of Pratapgarh district on Monday afternoon.
Upon being alerted, senior police officials including SP (Pratapgarh) Satpal Antil, along with forces and forensic experts rushed to the spot and carried out investigations.
The entire village was turned into a fortress and adequate police forces were deployed to defuse tension.
SP Satpal Anil said, “Police are probing the case thoroughly and four teams have also been formed to crack the incident. Bodies have been sent for post-mortem.”
He said both the deceased were close friends. On the complaint of family members, an FIR under section 302 of IPC has been lodged with the concerned police station.
Police, meanwhile, said they were talking to the villagers as well as family members to compile details. The motive behind the killings was still unknown.
Family members claimed that both the youths had left the house to attend the call of nature on Monday morning and did not return. Ironically, there were injury marks on the bodies of both the deceased. Investigations are on, said police.
