MUMBAI: In Raigad, the fight against Covid-19 has received a good response from corporates operating in the district.
Apart from running vaccination camps covering nearly 1,263 beneficiaries, Indian Oiltanking, a joint venture of Indian Oil Corporation and Oiltanking GmbH has provided oxygen cylinders this week with a capacity of 400 litres at the CIDCO training centre facility in Bokadvira.

The vaccination drive was aimed at immunising daily wage earners and workers from the unorganised sector. This initiative has also eased some burden off the public health system in the district.
As a part of its ‘neighbourhood initiatives’, Indian Oiltanking touched four villages- Ranjanpada, Dhutum, Jaskhar and Chirle in Raigad’s Uran Tehsil. With more than 300 people vaccinated in each village, Indian Oiltanking has some more villages on its list.
“With our petroleum terminal on the arterial JNPT highway, we have reached out to the neighbourhood communities since the first lockdown,” said the firm’s managing director Rajesh Ganesh. “While we provided ration kits to nearly 600 families along with masks and sanitisers last year, we thought a more direct intervention was needed this year,” he added.
