MUMBAI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a yellow alert with a forecast of heavy rain at isolated places in Thane and Palghar region of
Maharashtra for the next two days.
Nasik, Pune,
Satara,
Aurangabad, Jalna and Kolhapur districts have been put on orange alert with forecasts of heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places on Wednesday.
IMD has forecast heavy rain in Mumbai and suburbs on Wednesday.
Mumbai city has received 10.05 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours ending 8am on Monday.
The eastern suburbs recorded 36.55 mm and western suburbs recorded 22.11 mm of rainfall, as per Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Meanwhile, a high tide of 3.48 metres is expected at 5:23pm in Mumbai on Monday.
BMC said lakes that supply water to the city have 82 per cent stock, which is sufficient for 308 days.
