OnlyFans models may have been left fearing for their livelihoods this week, but the controversial site's founder isn't short of a few quid.

Flashy CEO Tim Stokely lives the live of a jet-setting millionaire, sharing snaps of luxurious yachts, expensive watches and his incredible country mansion over social media.

Described as the 'king of homemade porn', the 37-year-old, from Essex, started OnlyFans in 2016, allowing members to charge subscribers for personalised content.

Earlier this month, however, the company sparked a backlash from sex workers when it announced plans to ban content showing 'sexually explicit conduct'.

Today, OnlyFans made a U-turn on the decision and thanks users for "making your voices heard" - a day after Stokely blamed the move on financial pressure from banks.

With the funding now secure, the tech pioneer's fortune is only set to grow further, with the website said to have reached an annual revenue as high as £720million since lockdown.

The son of a banker, Stokely went to Anglia Ruskin University and tried to launch five businesses before hitting the jackpot with OnlyFans.

Carving out his niche after graduation, he worked on an online fetish service and softcore porn website, but noticed there was a gap in the market for a website that gave money back to lower-profile creators.

“The business models [of sites like YouTube] worked for the really big influencers but not for the majority,” he told The Telegraph.

“Because users had to be over the age of 18 and the content on OnlyFans was securely hidden behind a payment wall, we saw creators really embrace the platform early on.”

While the businessman has brushed off accusations of being a "digital pimp", his Instagram page is filled with the trappings of a playboy lifestyle.

Kitted out in Savile Row suits and expensive gold wristwatches, Stokely posts pictures of him partying at some of London and New York's most expensive clubs and bars.

He's frequently posted snaps of his glamorous trips to Ibiza and Mallorca, where he jetted off on a private boat and took dips in infinity pools overlooking romantic sunsets.

His enviable garage includes a £120,000 Audi R8 and a souped-up Range Rover modified by a company that pimps up cars for Premier League footballers.

Earlier this year, Stokely said OnlyFans was on track to make nearly $1 billion in revenue as spending soared by 400 per cent over the pandemic.

While many of the site's performers were recording from pokey bedrooms during lockdown, however, the founder was able to kick back in his £2,400,000 country mansion.

The stunning six-bed home, which he purchased in 2019, is tucked away in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, and wouldn't look out of place in Footballers' Wives.

Boasting eight bathrooms, a gym, sauna and home cinema, it also comes with a purple pool table and full-stocked bar.

Estate agents called it a "stunning, modern home finished to a very high specification”.

Elsewhere in the grounds, there's a massive private swimming pool and swish terrace area.

One snap from his Instagram over Christmas also shows a stash of Louis Vuitton parcels vying for attention underneath the tree.

U-turn on 'porn ban' as sex workers fight back

OnlyFans today announced it will reverse its decision to ban sexually-explicit conduct after a widespread backlash from users and creators.

In a statement posted to Twitter, the content platform said: "Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard.

"We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change.

"OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators."

The platform, which is popular among sex workers, recently announced new rules coming into effect in October that would have prohibited “any content containing sexually explicit conduct”.

But last week the London-based company said the move was being introduced due to pressure from financial partners, leading some to assume payment processors Mastercard and Visa were behind it.

However, Stokely revealed it was “unfair” banks who prompted the change over concerns about “reputational risk”.

He named three banks – the UK’s Metro Bank, JPMorgan Chase and Bank of New York Mellon.

“The change in policy, we had no choice - the short answer is banks,” he told the Financial Times.

“We pay over one million creators over 300 million dollars every month, and making sure that these funds get to creators involves using the banking sector.”

Users pay up to £25 a month for access to the subscription-only app, famous for its raunchy adult material.

OnlyFans membership surged to 130 million users across the globe during the pandemic - and thousands say the site saved them from financial ruin.

Following news of the 'porn ban', sex workers took to social media, warning they didn't know how they would be able to pay their bills.

One wrote: "I'm absolutely devastated by the news concerning OnlyFans. Anyone that's been following me lately knows that I just narrowly dodged eviction thanks to that platform and my fans there.

"I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do now."

Another content creator said: "I am honestly pretty devastated with the news of OnlyFans removing adult content, while I will be moving platforms I urge you all to see this as yet another example of businesses using and mistreating sex workers. Sex work is work, period, stop treating it like it's not."
