Hyderabad: To ensure good governance, the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) has to merge into the ‘Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’ (GHMC), urged by the Secunderabad Cantonment MLA, G Sayanna.
On Thursday, ruling TRS party MLA of Secunderabad Cantonment in Telangana, met chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence (PSCOD) Jual Oram and gave a representation on this demand.
Apart from this, MLA also represented other issues like allotment of funds for Bolarum General Hospital, releasing of Rs 600 service charges, which ‘ministry of Defence’ was supposed to release every year, to SCB, and relocating of dumping yard from Trimulgherry and allotment of Airport Authority’s land, to the 40,000 poor families who are staying for the more than six decades.

Meanwhile, a two-member delegation of All Cantonments Citizens Welfare Association (ACCiWA) including president, M L Agarwal, and general secretary, Jeetender Surana, gave a 1,200 pages representation, which contained several issues.
M L Agarwal told TOI, ``We have explained that any change in rules cannot retrospectively change the character of ownership and British India were not rulers but paid Security Guards of Nizam and never owned any lands.”
