32% of Covid cases in Sept came from Buldhana alone

Buldhana district once again reported a surge of 17 Covid cases on Saturday. A district reporting cases in double digits has happened for the fourth time in the last 8 days.

NAGPUR: Buldhana district once again reported a surge of 17 Covid cases on Saturday. A district reporting cases in double digits has happened for the fourth time in the last 8 days.
While the number is still not very serious, it’s considerably more as compared to the other 10 districts in Vidarbha region. As far as September is concerned, 55 out of 169 new cases reported in first four days of this month have come from Buldhana alone.
Cases are being registered from all parts of the district. Buldhana city in particular is reporting higher number of cases.
Covid conditions in other districts in the region are still under control. On Saturday, Nagpur district conducted more than 5,000 tests and only 7 of them were positive. Barring Buldhana, all the other districts reported new cases in single digit. Total 44 new cases were reported. On the other hand, 18 patients recovered in a day. Recovery rate of Vidarbha is still above 98% but down by some decibel points in the last 4 days.
On Saturday, 12,553 tests were carried out in Vidarbha. The number of under treatment patients increased to 329. Here too, Buldhana is the only district to have more patients under treatment. Bhandara, Gondia and Wardha have single digit patients under treatment.
Wardha: Out of 340 tests, only one was positive. Meanwhile, 2 were discharged, leaving 2 active positive, one new and one old. The caseload increased to 49,392 and recoveries 48,062. No new death was reported while the toll remained the same (1,325).
Yavatmal: With no deaths on Saturday, the toll remained unchanged at 1,787. There are 17 active positive patients undergoing treatment in hospitals. The administration received 1,713 reports of which 2 persons were found positive. Of the 72,863 positive patients, 71,059, including 3 on Saturday, have recovered. The test positivity rate is 10.04 % and death rate 2.45 %. Daily positivity rate is 0.12 %. The district has 2,174 beds available for Covid patients of which 2,150 are lying vacant at GMC, DCHC and private hospitals.

Amravati: Two new cases and as many recoveries took the district’s caseload to 96,085 and recoveries to 94,443 on Saturday. With no Covid deaths, the number of active patients remained 47.
Chandrapur: There were zero detections and zero casualties on Saturday. The solitary recovery left 47 active patients under treatment. The caseload remained stable at 88,659, while total recoveries touched 87,072.
Akola: One new positive case was reported of 363 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. This took the total case load to 57,826. Neither recovery nor death was reported. Now, 18 patients are still under treatment in the district.
Buldhana: The district once again reported a small surge of 17 cases on Saturday out of 1,370 reports. This took the case load to 87,473. Now, Buldhana has 90 patients under treatment. The district reported 55 cases in the last 4 days.
Washim: The district reported 5 new cases and 1 recovery on Saturday. This took the total case load to 41,723 and recoveries to 41,067. Death toll is 638. Total 17 patients are under treatment.
Bhandara: No new case was reported out of 383 reports received on Saturday. Neither a recovery nor death was reported. This kept the case number unchanged at 60,084, recoveries at 58,947 and toll at 1,133. Now, 4 patients are under treatment in Bhandara.
Gondia: Three new cases were reported after 466 reports on Saturday. No patient recovered. Due to this, the number of under-treatment patients reached 8 with six of them in home isolation and 2 in Covid care centres.
Gadchiroli: Out of 760 reports, six were found to be positive. Four patients recovered in a day. Now, 36 patients are under treatment in Gadchiroli.
