CHANDIGARH: A wanted and rewarded criminal, carrying a bounty of Rs 2 lakh was arrested from Jammu in connection with the paper leak during the
Haryana Police constable recruitment written test. A total of 34 accused have been arrested by the police so far.
A spokesperson of Haryana Police said that the arrested accused, which is an important link of the constable paper leak case, was identified as
Muzaffar Ahmed Khan, a resident of Gul District
Ramban, Jammu.
He would be produced in court.
In this case, a reward of Rs 2 lakh each was announced for giving any information leading to the arrest of two accused and Rs 50,000 each for giving information about the arrest of 9 accused. Earlier, police had also arrested two accused Manohar and Naveen, both carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 each.
The police have also recovered the mobile phone, printer used in the crime and the admit cards obtained by him from some candidates from the possession of accused Naveen, who is on police remand for 5 days.
During the investigation, it has come to the fore that the hard copy of paper and answer key was given to
Muzaffar Ahmed Khan by the earlier arrested accused
Jitendra, a resident of Jammu, which was further given to
Afzal by
Aijaz Amin at Jammu airport and the deal was settled for 60 lakh. The money was to be given after the examination and Muzaffar and Ejaz had an equal share in Rs 60 lakh. Then the paper and answer keys were given by the accused Afzal at Rs one crore to the accused
Rajkumar at the Delhi airport on August 5. The accused Ejaz has also been arrested by the police.
