Thane: Rape accused gets 10-year rigorous imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine

The Thane sessions court convicted a 49-year-old man from Mumbra for raping a twoand-half-year-old girl and sentenced him to ten years of rigorous imprisonment. The accused, Abdul Khalid Mohammad Kaisar Shaikh, was convicted by Kavita D Shirbhate, the Additional Sessions Judge and Judge Special Case (POCSO) and imposed a Rs10,000 fine that will be paid to the victim as compensation through her guardian mother. As many as eight witnessed testified in the court.
