Earlier, ration for poor went to those who said ‘abba jaan’: Yogi Adityanath

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Adityanath said he has changed the country’s “political agenda”, which was earlier limited to caste, faith, religion, place, language and family. “As a result, people from every class are getting the benefits of development. Today, there is development of everyone and appeasement of none. Earlier, when there was politics of appeasement, there wasn’t development but riots, corruption, anarchy, terrorism, oppression and injustice,” he said.

“Today, you are getting ration. Were you getting this ration before 2017? Because back then, those saying ‘abba jaan’ used to digest the ration. Back then, the ration meant for Kushinagar used to reach Nepal and Bangladesh. Today, if someone tries to swallow ration for the poor, he will end up in jail. We are working with this commitment,” Adityanath said.

“Earlier, those saying ‘abba jaan’ used to loot jobs meant for the poor… In the last 4.5 years, we have given jobs to 4.5 lakh youth. These women constables standing here got their appointment during this time. None of them had to bring any recommendation or pay any bribe. But they definitely teach a lesson to the Romeos saying ‘abba jaan’,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that unlike previous governments, where people from the “jungle party” used to enter SP and BSP and commit dacoity, law and order is strengthened today. “The jungle party is no more today. Criminals and rioters have disappeared. Every time Janmashtami used to be celebrated in Padrauna, there used to be riots. The rioters know what will happen to them. Their entire household will be on sale,” he said.

Slamming the BSP for declaring that they would not build any new park or memorial after coming to power, Adityanath said they got “scared” as they realised that the Ram temple would be “grand” and “most beautiful”.

“Do you think that those who open fire on Ram devotees would have built the Ram temple? That those opening fire and conducting riots would have removed section 370 from Kashmir? That those supporting the Taliban would have abolished triple talaq? People of this state should never accept this casteist and dynast mentality. Remember, a scorpion will sting no matter where it is,” he said.

At events organised in Kaptanganj and Sevrahi, the Chief Minister inaugurated projects worth Rs 420 crore. In Kaptanganj, he laid the foundation stone for 96 projects worth Rs 310 crore and inaugurated 11 projects worth Rs 14 crore. In Sevrahi, he laid the foundation and inaugurated 30 projects worth Rs 96 crore.

“This is just a trailer for Kushinagar. A very important work is pending. On the next visit, I have to come to lay the foundation stone for a medical college. Kushinagar will get its own medical college. Now flights will also start from Kushinagar and I want the first flight from here to be international,” he said.

Earlier, Adityanath visited Sant Kabir Nagar district where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 122 development projects worth Rs 245 crore, including the building of a district prison for Rs 126 crore.

Addressing a gathering, he said: “We have converted the jails of the state into reform homes where the criminals are being given an opportunity to reform. The jails of UP are no more places of fun for criminals. There was a time when the powers used to be slaves of various mafia. Today, the bulldozer of our government runs over their houses.”

Adityanath said that the emphasis of his government is to ensure safety, dignity and self-reliance for women. He presented tailoring kits to five women under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana.
