GREATER NOIDA: The proposed multimodal transport and logistics hub (MMTLH) near Bodaki will be connected through a skywalk. The 500m-long walkway will serve as a link to a bus stand and railway and metro stations planned in the area.

A concept plan and a detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and it is expected to be ready in one month.

“Preparations are on to build the first skywalk of the district. Once it is ready, people can have easy access to the bus stand and railway and metro stations that are set to come up at the MMTLH,” said Narendra Bhooshan, the chief executive officer (CEO), Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA).
“The project has been planned on 478 hectares that covers seven villages in Bodaki area. While an approval for the project from the Government of India has been received, about 80% of the required land has been acquired,” the CEO added.

The MMTLH will include three important projects, a railway station, an inter-state and local bus terminus and a metro station on the Aqua Line corridor.
The train station plan has been approved by the railways ministry and it is likely to be ready in the next five years.
“Those staying in and around Greater Noida will be able to take trains from here to go to eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal, among other places. They will not have to go to Delhi now,” Bhooshan added. A plan to build a 3km-long metro line from the Depot station in Greater Noida to Bodaki has also been approved.
“Efforts are being made to make the railway station, bus stand and the metro station more accessible. That is why we have decided to build the skywalk,” Bhooshan said.
He added that the MMTLH will also have hotels, office space and parking lots. “People coming to the city for meetings or conferences will be able to stay in these hotels. We will also have office space and a multilevel parking lot,” he said.
The Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (IITGNL), a joint venture of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and an SPV company formed by the GNIDA, the development authority and the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) will be involved in the implementation of these projects.
