20 sovereigns of gold looted from professor’s house

Coimbatore: Burglars broke open a house at the staff quarters of Government College of Technology on Thadagam Road and looted 20 sovereigns of gold ornaments from the house.
K Ramesh, 44, works as a professor at the department of mechanical engineering at the Government College of Technology on Thadagam Road here for the last 15 years. He has been staying at the staff quarters on the college premises.On September 9, he locked his house and went to Perambalur along with his family to attend a family function. His house maid came to the house on Monday evening and found the back door was broken open and informed it to the professor who alerted the RS Puram police.TNN
