Lucknow: 38,000 take jab; 3 new Covid cases surface

LUCKNOW: Nearly 38,000 more people were vaccinated with first or second dose against Covid-19 on Monday.
Total 37,923 beneficiaries, including 14,485 women, were inoculated at various centres. While 25,964 (68%) persons got the first dose, 11,959 (32%) completed the two-dose course by taking the second.
Overall, among beneficiaries, 26,873 (71%) were in the 18-44 age group, 7,597 (20%) aged between 45-59 years and 3,178 (8%) elderly.Some healthcare and frontline workers also took the jab.
Meanwhile, three persons tested Covid-19 positive in the past 24 hours. No recovery was reported in this period. As a result, the number of active cases rose to 16.
Health officers said that all the 38 contacts of a Jankipuram resident, who had tested Covid positive after his return from Dubai, have tested negative in the tests done through the RT-PCR method. However, as a precautionary measure, all have been asked to stay in home isolation for a few days.
