Women thieves held in Gadag
Gadag: Betgeri Extension police arrested two inter-state women thieves and recovered valuables worth over Rs 3 lakh on Tuesday.
In a press release, SP Yatish N has said the accused are Sangeeta Suresh and Shruti alias Arati Ramu Gajiwar, natives of Mukundwad area of Aurangabad in Maharashtra and residiets of Kalasapur Rings Road in Gadag.
“A bag containing jewellery worth over Rs 3 lakh belonging to Soumya Satish was stolen at Gadag new bus stand on August 11.
A team was formed to crack the case. The accused were found wandering suspiciously at the new bus stand on September 12. When questioned, they admitted to stealing the bag. They have been sent in judicial custody,” he added.
The SP has appreciated the police team, led by Betgeri CPI B G Subbapurmath and Extension PSI RR Mundewadagi, for cracking the case.
