Rakul Preet Singh reveals how she prepared for her role in Doctor G
Rakul Preet Singh opened up on her role in Doctor G. She said she wanted her character, Dr Fatima, to look authentic so she learnt things related to the medical world before starting the film’s shoot.
Rakul Preet Singh will be seen essaying the role of a doctor for the first time in Doctor G. The actress plays Dr Fatima and will be sharing screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana and Shefali Shah. The makers recently unveiled Rakul’s much-awaited first look from the movie.
RAKUL PREET SINGH’S DOCTOR G LOOK
Rakul Preet Singh began the shoot of her upcoming film, Doctor G, in July in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. To bring authenticity to the story, the makers arranged for experts to train the cast of the film. So, Rakul, Ayushmann Khurana and Shefali Shah went through training in medical terminology and learnt nuances of important surgical procedures.
Talking about the prep, Rakul said in a statement, “Shooting for Doctor G has turned out to be an interesting experience. Since I play a doctor, the mannerisms and actions needed to be precise. It was mandatory to learn important things related to the medical world to make it look real on screen. The journey of becoming Doctor Fatima was an amazing process which I will cherish forever.”
She further added, “We wanted Fatima to look authentic. We did multiple look tests to get her look right. The idea was for her to look as close to real as possible and bring out the endearing quality of her character. By just wearing the doctor’s coat, you suddenly get a sense of responsibility even though I was only playing a character. While treating patients for scenes, one truly understands how much responsibility doctors have on their shoulders and how difficult their life is.”

Doctor G is a campus comedy drama, which has been co-written by Anubhuti, Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh and Saurabh Bharat. The extensive shoot schedule was wrapped in Prayagraj. The wait for Doctor G is surely going to be worth it.
