The Fourth Annual Fall Festival on the River Bend Trail was held Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Agra Pavilion on the River Bend Trail and drew attendees for the food, the crafts, the music, the fun, and the fresh air. Whether out for a walk, or wandering over to check out the restored cupola from the T.B. Scott Mansion in its permanent new location on the Trail, or coming specifically to check out the crafts and vendors, the beautiful seasonal weather made for a fairly steady stream of visitors to enjoy the Fall Festival.
“We had approximately 25 vendors,” said Greg Hartwig, one of the event’s organizers. Attendance was pretty good, especially in consideration of all of the other events happening around town on Saturday, he said.
“We do this for small business to promote their products,” Hartwig said. “The event is always free for vendors and the public to attend.”
This year, “People got to meet the new owners of Merrill Ace Hardware who cooked up pork and mac and cheese on the Traeger grill,” he said. “They gave out samples.”
Musical entertainment was on location, with Mark Robl, Russ Zoellner, and Jim Rehwinkel donating their time and talent. And, of course, with more than 20 vendors, there was a lot of variety in the wares available for purchase: from woodworking and pottery to cupcakes and jewelry, plus much more.
The Friends of the River Bend Trail also sold insulated drink bottles and accepted donations from attendees. “All proceeds are going toward the new section of trail!” Hartwig said.
