Manchester United take on West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, looking to continue their record-breaking away record.

It is a Premier League match with plenty of history and this weekend’s clash is sure to bring up plenty of storylines.

Jesse Lingard nearly completed a summer move to the London Stadium but opted to stay with United, this being his first return to east London since last season’s loan move.

And in the opposing dugout will be David Moyes, once a United manager.

In his only season in charge of the Red Devils seven years ago, Moyes witnessed one the team’s greatest goals ever.

In what can only be described as David Beckham-esqe, Wayne Rooney rolls off his defender and just ahead of the half-way line, lets loose with a delightful half-volley.

One bounce, and a confused and dizzy Adrian in goal, later and the ball is in the back of the net and Rooney celebrates arms aloft as Marouane Fellaini mobs him and is joined by then-teammate and current coach Darren Fletcher.

Given the players and coaches involved then are still around this weekend, Juan Mata played in the game in 2014 and is still at United, it was only right that the official Manchester United Twitter account reminded fans of what went down.

Fans heaped a ton of superlatives on the goal, reacting with pleasure on social media.

United ran out eventual 2-0 winners, Rooney grabbing both goals.

Fans will be hoping someone in a United shirt can produce something just as magic and spectacular as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side look to continue their strong start to the Premier League season and keep a hold of top spot.
