THANE: The Thane unit of the BJP has levelled serious allegations on the ruling
Shiv Sena over vaccine stock in the city and depriving the common man of getting vaccinated.
MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe on Friday and claimed the
Shiv Sena- led state government was playing politics and was involved in hogging the limelight for the vaccines even as the average citizen was yet to be deprived of vaccination.
It may be recalled the corporation had refused to participate in a special vaccination camp along with the BJP recently.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants the average man to get vaccinated at the earliest but the ruling party here seems to have coerced the municipal administration into diverting the vaccines to areas under their influence. There seems to be dirty politics involved by Sena at a time when a majority of residents are still deprived of first vaccine dose,” Sahasrabuddhe said.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader and Mayor
Naresh Mhakse refuted the BJP's allegations saying the corporation has crossed 11.5 lakh vaccine dose deliveries till date and dedicated the same to prime minister Modi.
