UDUPI: MLA of Udupi, K Raghupathi Bhat said he will meet chief minister Basavaraj Bommai to get special sanctions to celebrate

Bhat, who is also the working president of the
Paryaya Mahotsava Samiti, said that the district has been witnessing fall in Covid-19 cases and the situation is far better. “The situation in Udupi is better now, and the district is also expected to cover 100% of the target population in the administration of the first dose of vaccine by November.
We are also expecting to increase the percentage of second doses of vaccination phenomenally by the end of this year. Hence,
Paryaya festival can be organised with all pomp and gaiety in January,” he said adding that he will meet the CM very soon to seek special grants.
At a meeting of the Samiti on Sunday, Bhat said that various development works need to be taken up in the temple town prior to the festival. “Roads and other infrastructure must be developed for the convenience of devotees, who are expected to arrive from various parts of the country. With the support of the district administration all arrangements will be made,” he added.

Pramod Madhwaraj said each member of the Samiti should strive for the success of the festival.
Srikrishnapura Mutt seer Sri Vidyasagara Thirtha said that the festival may be a low-key affair only if strict Covid-19 protocol will be in force. However, he added, all rituals will be held as per traditions. The seer will ascend the Paryaya Peetha of the famous Sri Krishna Temple during the Paryaya festival to be held on January 18, 2022. A kattige muhurtha ritual was held as part of the Paryaya festival on July 11.
