Telangana govt plans to set up sports village in Warangal

The state government would soon set up a sports village in Warangal, panchayat raj and rural development minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said on Sunday. The sports village would come up on 50 acres, the minister said, adding that he would be meeting CM K Chandrasekhar Rao with the detailed project report.

HANUMAKONDA: The state government would soon set up a sports village in Warangal, panchayat raj and rural development minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said on Sunday. The sports village would come up on 50 acres, the minister said, adding that he would be meeting CM K Chandrasekhar Rao with the detailed project report.
Speaking at the valedictory meeting of the 60th National Open Athletic Championships (NOAC) at JNS grounds, Dayakar Rao said the CM was keen on developing Warangal on the lines of Hyderabad.

“Warangal is the alternative to Hyderabad for growth of IT and education in the state,” he said. ST welfare minister Satyawathi Rathod stated the CM was going to introduce rural sports in the games schedule.
