Salem Boys & Girls Win Match Play

The Salem boys won their Match Play Tournament at the Salem Country Club on Saturday.  Finishing first in their foursome for Salem was Cale Harris, Isaak Williams, Levi Bopp and Rhett Detering.  Blaze Greathouse and Caden Tinsley was first in their groups for Mt Vernon.  The Cats will play in the Cahokia Conference Championship on Wednesday at Governor’s Run.  The Salem JV boys play at Nashville today.

The Lady Cats also won their event.  Kenzie Anderson won 15 of 18 holes in Group 1.  Alyssa Paul won 9 holes in Group 2.  Taylor Kudor of Centralia won group 3 with 4 holes.  Avery Endres of Centralia won Group 4.  Salem’s Maya Susmena also won 4 holes but the tie breaker was awarded to Endres.  Taylor Ice won 8 holes to win Group 5 for Salem.  Riley Meyer of Breese Central won Group 6.

Joining Salem in the tournament was Centralia, Central and Carmi.  The Lady Cats travel to Okawville today for their conference tournament.
