The Executive Director of the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce is pleased with the move of Apple Fest to the Marion County Fairgrounds from Bryan Memorial Park.

Jessica Coleman-Nix doesn’t have exact numbers yet, but is pleased.

“we got a lot of great feedback and we had a max amount of traffic this year.  Vendors are extremely happy with the way it went at the Fairgrounds.”

Coleman-Nix already has plans to make the event even bigger next year.

“We are definitely going to move it to a bigger level next year. Our plans are potentially to conduct a mini-parade in the morning as a kickoff for the Applefest.  We will continue to layout the vendors and food trucks at the Fairgrounds because it worked out so well for everyone involved.  And we have a few other gems hidden up our sleeves.”

For the first time, a Little Mr. and Miss Apple Dumpling was held. The winners in the younger division were three month old Carlee Wimberly, the daughter of Cody Wimberly and Heather Arbogast, and ten month old Daxton Leinicke the son of Alexis and Jason Leinicke. In the older age division, Brilyn Moghadam, the
daughter of Jordan and Bethany Moghadam and 8-year-old Izac Holsapple the son of Olivia Holsapple was the winner. The winners were selected by those voting on line.
