Thane: No Covid-19 deaths for fifth consecutive day, 59 new cases

THANE: In a positive development, for the fifth consecutive day, Thane city reported no new Covid-19 deaths on Monday.
During the day, 59 people tested positive, taking the overall case count to 1,38,445.
Among the new cases, 14 people each tested positive in Majiwada-Manpada and Vartak Nagar.
Eight people tested positive in Uthalsar, seven in Lokmanya-Savarkar, five in Wagale, four in Kalwa, three in Naupada-Kopri and two each in Mumbra and Diva.
Whereas, 83 people were discharged. Till date, 1,35,779 people have recovered from the virus.
The recovery rate is 98.07 per cent, and the doubling rate is 1,962.
With no new deaths, the overall death toll stands at 2,087. At present, 579 people are taking treatment.
During the day, 18,740 doses were administered at the government centres and 4,050 at private centres.
So far, 12.20,762 people have been vaccinated from the city.
