Winston-Salem State University has released its newest COVID-19 safety protocols ahead of the return of sporting and community events on campus. Beginning Sept. 25, all WSSU eventgoers 12 years and over will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result collected no more than 72 hours before entry to an event, school officials said.Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their final dose.The safety protocols will apply to all events including football games and homecoming with the exception of tailgating.Acceptable forms of documentation of vaccination or negative test results are listed below:Vaccination cardsPhotocopies of vaccination cardsDigital records from a health care provider or pharmacyVaccination verification through the free mobile applications VaxYes or Clear Pass are also accepted.Acceptable forms of COVID-19 test results include hard or digital copies from a health care provider or pharmacy. PCR and rapid antigen test results are also acceptable All event attendees 18 years and older will have to provide valid ID to verify their testing or vaccination records, school officials said. School officials also said there would be other safety protocols put in place such as masks being a requirement in indoor and outdoor venues on campus, including Bowman-Gray Stadium. WSSU has an on-campus Covid-19 testing site at the Anderson Center that is open to the public where PCR and rapid antigen tests are available. Testing is by appointment only.Public testing hours are held on Mondays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays from noon to 7 p.m.
