Man out for evening walk shot at in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: A 35-year-old man out for an evening walk was shot at by a group of people in Masuri. He was injured in the shoulder and is currently being treated at a private hospital.
Police said the victim has been identified as Pawan Kumar, a resident of Masuri village. His brother Akash said he had stepped out around 6pm. Half an hour later, some neighbours informed the family about the incident.“We ran to the spot and rushed him to a nearby hospital but as it didn’t start treatment, we took him to another private hospital,” he said.
Masuri police station SHO Shailendra Singh said on the basis of a complaint, an FIR has been registered against unknown persons under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder).
A senior police officer said some eyewitnesses said some people approached Kumar, after which there was a heated argument between them. “But the reason behind the crime is not known yet,” he added.
