PRAYAGRAJ: Following the mysterious death of
Narendra Giri, the president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, and one of the disciples being accused of mental harassment, police on late Monday registered an FIR against
Anand Giri.
The FIR was lodged under Section 306 of IPC with Georgetown police station.
Dinesh Kumar Singh, SP (city), confirmed that an FIR has been registered against Anand Giri on the complaint of Amar Giri.
He added that police would be investigating the sequence of events once the FIR was registered against Anand Giri.
Anand Giri has been booked for abutment of suicide.
The FIR also claimed that there was a dispute between
Mahant Narendra Giri and his disciple Anand Giri and the dispute between the duo would also be investigated.
Mahant Narendra Giri was found dead in mysterious circumstances at the campus of Shri Math Baghambari Gaddi on Monday evening.
His body was found hanging with a ceiling at a room in campus under the limits of Georgetown police station.
