Thane: Special Covid-19 vaccination drive for women, tribals on Tuesday

THANE: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) will conduct the Covid-19 vaccination drive across 77 centres in the city on Tuesday.
Both the doses of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines will be available for beneficiaries above 18 years of age.
The civic body has organised special session for women at TMC Tembi Naka 1 and TMC Tembi Naka 2 on Tuesday. First and second doses of Covishield will be available at these vaccination centres.
Those who have taken their first dose of Covishield upto June 28 are now eligible for their second jab.
A special walk-in session has been organised at TMC Post Covid Center 1 for those who are due to fly abroad.
TMC Yeoor Health Centre has organised special session for tribals from 12 pm to 4 pm.
TMC Central Railway Health THN has organised special session for railway staff and their families only, while TMC Thane Police centre has organised special session for police staff and their families.
All centers will give preference to differently abled citizens, pregnant women and lactating mothers, the civic body said.
Those who have taken their first dose of Covaxin on August 23 are now eligible for their second dose. Covaxin will be available at 10 inoculation centres including TMC Wagle Estate HC 2, TMC Post Covid Centre 2, TMC Patlipada 2, TMC Naupada HC 2 and TMC Diva (ATC) 2 among others.
Meanwhile, 59 new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Monday, a civic official said.
