PANAJI: AAP’s national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind
Kejriwal arrived in Goa on Monday to give boost to the party’s election campaign for the 2022 assembly elections.
He spent the day interacting with party functionaries and locals, including taxi drivers at the airport who told him that they have been unable to earn money ever since the start of the pandemic and have received no support from the BJP-led government.
“Whoever Kejriwal met in Goa stated how upset they are with the situation of unemployment, where, instead of getting jobs based on their own hard work, youth have to beg with MLA’s and politicians for employment,” the party said in a statement.
In the state capital, Kejriwal met a delegation from the Bhandari Samaj.
They shared their concerns with Kejriwal and explained how despite the economic slow down and the effects of the lockdown, the government has taken no steps to help the common people.
Former industries minister and two-time MLA from
Shiroda, Mahadev
Naik, was part of the Bhandari Samaj delegation that met Kejriwal.
Naik said that youth from the Bhandari Samaj are being cheated by local MLAs and politicians with promises of jobs.
Kejriwal also paid a visit to the Rudreshwar temple in Sakhali where he paid his respects to the deity. Later he interacted with the locals.
“Goenkars wholeheartedly welcomed Kejriwal to Goa. They look forward to his next announcement,” AAP’s Goa convenor
Rahul Mhambre said.
